Money plays a huge part in everyone’s life and affects a lot of your decisions. Aiss wants to open up the conversation and make it less of a taboo to talk about it.
Aissetou Griffin, a former colleague from Penguin, launched a podcast last year exploring women and their relationship with money. Money shapes almost every decision we make, yet it remains a subject many people avoid discussing openly. The podcast sets out to change that, making conversations about personal finance feel less taboo. There are plenty of US-based money podcasts, but a UK perspective was harder to find, which made this one especially welcome. The episode covers money and YouTube, negotiating rates, the different attitudes towards money in the Netherlands and the UK, and how to chase up unpaid freelance invoices.
