A Small City Guide to Dublin
A relaxed way to spend a few days in Dublin through walks, stories and neighbourhood cafés.
Dublin is easy to approach on foot. The city centre is compact, but the best days are built from short walks rather than a long list of landmarks.
Begin with a long walk
Start near the river and follow the city as it changes from busy streets to quieter corners. Pause whenever a doorway, window display or handwritten menu catches your attention. Dublin is particularly good at rewarding small detours.
Make time for conversation
Choose cafés and pubs where people are not being hurried out. Ask for a local recommendation and follow it if it sounds appealing. A city becomes memorable through the stories attached to its places, not only through the places themselves.
